Beautiful & educational, but be prepared to add your own rules!

My wife and I picked up Show Me the Monet as art lovers looking for another couple's game. We love the feel and look of the game, and enjoy reading through the cards. However, when it comes to gameplay the rules and scoring could have had more play-testing... There are several gaps in the game mechanics that require some common sense to make it fun.

We personally recommend: Increasing the penalty for forgeries to 100 mil, increasing the bonus for female artists to 250 mil, only allowing one forgery to be passed at a time, finishing the game the instant the deck runs out, allowing another turn after a successful steal, and locking in stolen cards by placing them face up in front of you.

If you like art, beautiful card games or want your friends to think you're sophisticated then get this game. Otherwise, don't worry if you give it pass, at least until they release an updated edition with better rules :)
